Sehnsucht*
The flowing strands of your hair
Textured like the sand on the beach
Yet smooth as the waves that disperse upon it
Your eyes glistening with such immensity
In the light seeping through these windows
I am engulfed in the abyss of your soul in them
Those lips that I hunger for as I hunger
For my daily bread and wine, my sustenance
Oh how I wish them against my own
Your skin that I long to touch
Like the silk blown in the winds of Egypt
That I cannot paint its likeness with a brush
My spirit and your spirit
Your mind and mine
Our bodies together
Bound in such transcendence
As to lack description
All remains my wish, my longing, my hunger
That I may hope for a tomorrow where it is true
That I may one day recall this one with content
