Dear Tyson
I read the news today,
Oh boy.
About a lucky man
who made the grade.1
And through it all
it came to me,
how long it’s been
since we have seen
each other.
You know that
there is no one else
who understand me
like you do.
That there is
nothing I can’t say;
that I completely
trust in you.
Yet you’ve been
gone for quite
some time now.
It’s getting hard
to be someone,
but it all works out.2
I guess because
I know that
you’ll be back.
It hasn’t been easy
the years before
I knew you.
No one to walk with,
I as all by myself.
No one to talk with,
and I was
unhappy on a shelf.3
The people around
me didn’t know
what I felt.
I must admit
that when I met you
you struck me
as somewhat
strange.
Thinking about
it now I find
the irony even
stranger than
the fact that
you are not so
strange as I.
Though perhaps
the strangest
thing of all
is that tow
people such
as you and I
would meet
at all.
How could I
have imagined
that I would
travel across
the Atlantic to
meet my best
of friends.
Life, I think,
can be rather
amazing at time,
I think.
What do you think?
Indeed
your opinions
have been and
continue to be
of much value
to me.
So please write
back dear friend.
Sincerely,
Your friend,
Michal
